Bayer is a global enterprise with core competencies in the Life Science fields of healthcare and agriculture. In Switzerland, Bayer has around 1,600 employees from more than 60 nations. The Swiss HR Operations team is responsible for Employment Contracts, Change of Contracts, Promotion Letters and additional HR documents which are requested by the HR Business Partners or Talent Acquisition Managers.
Manual processes more prone to errors
With the existing manual process for creating contracts, HR Business Partners or Talent Acquisition Managers had to collect the relevant data from colleagues or candidates and pass this on to HR Operations, who would then copy and paste the provided details into the corresponding contract templates. This process was time consuming and prone to human error.
Bayer Switzerland therefore wanted to automate this process to minimise the error rate, optimize processing time and to streamline the process. They estimated that they could save at least 800 hours by automating the end-to-end contract creation process while increasing the speed of contract creation.
DocuSign eSignature to DocuSign CLM
Bayer Switzerland was already successfully using DocuSign for eSignatures, so the logical choice was to evaluate the implementation of DocuSign CLM. After a careful analysis, DocuSign CLM was chosen with SYKE as implementation partner.

Feedback for the new CLM system has been extremely positive. Colleagues are happy with how user-friendly and quick the tool is, whilst the business is pleased with the seamless transition and accuracy of management information generated through the document automation tool.
Colleagues are now kept up to date with automatic updates on where their contracts are in the approval process so there’s no need for chasing.
